This privacy policy explains how Clean Air Fund Ltd, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation (operating as Impact on Urban Health), (referred to in this policy as “we” or “us”) use the personal data we collect from you when you use our website www.air-pollution-footprint.net
For the purposes of the UK data protection laws, we are the “controllers” of this website. It was created by our “processor” WSP UK Ltd (WSP) who continue to manage it and the Air Pollution Footprint Tool.

Most of the personal data we collect has been provided directly to us by you when you:
- Create an account to download the Air Pollution Footprint tool
- Contact us with inquiries
- Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies (please see our Cookies Policy)
What data do we collect?
If you interact in one of the ways listed above, we may collect the following data:
- Information you enter onto our website and that can personally identify you, such as name, work email address, organisation, phone number
- Records of your correspondence with us, if you have contacted us
- Details of your visit to our website, including your IP address
Why and how will we use your data?
We will process your personal information for one or more of the following reasons:
- To provide you with the Air Pollution Footprint Tool and updates to it
- Where you have subscribed: to provide you with further information on the Air Pollution Footprint Partnership, such as upcoming events, and to send you a quarterly newsletter
- To provide you with help and support
- To discuss progress with emissions reporting and, where appropriate, for our service provider, WSP, to offer services on a commercial basis to assist with other sustainability challenges
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations
While generally we will seek consent to process your data at the point we collect it, in some cases we may process data without consent where we are legally allowed to do so, and where we have legitimate reasons for doing so, provided we respect your legal rights. If you request to receive no further contact from us, we will keep some basic information when required by law or to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future. We will keep your personal data only for as long as it is required for the purposes for which we collected it or as required by law.
Marketing
If you have agreed to receive marketing, such as by subscribing to our newsletter, you have the right at any time to ask us to stop contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing, please contact - rcd.apfootprint@wsp.com
Where is your information stored
WSP store your data on a secure, encrypted database environment. For the purposes of facilitating disaster recovery, WSP maintain backups for a period of 14 days after which all data contained within these backups is permanently deleted.
Who do we share data with? Your data will not be shared with any other organisations except:
- As required to run the website and provide you with the Air Pollution Footprint Tool;
- With your consent; or
- To comply with any legal obligation or for safety/ security.
When we share your personal data, we require the recipients to respect the security of your personal data, to treat it in accordance with the law and to process your personal data only for specified purposes in accordance with our instructions. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes without your consent.
If we need to transfer your personal data out of the UK, we put in place contracts with the recipients of that data to give your personal data the same protection overseas as it has in the UK.
What are your data protection rights?
To request details of the information we hold about you, if you no longer want to receive information from us, or if you wish to update your contact details or change your preferences, simply let us know.
